Who can use a Lift Truck?
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) have regulations that employers must follow regarding the operation of powered industrial equipment. As stated in OSHA Regulation CFR 1910.178 regarding Operator qualifications:

Only trained and authorized personnel shall be permitted to operate a powered industrial truck. Operators of powered industrial trucks shall be qualified as to visual auditory, physical, and mental ability to operate equipment safely.

Additionally, operators are required to complete formal classroom training, practical hands-on training and an evaluation.
